Pros and cons of Collins Greek Dictionary app for iPhone and iPad

Collins Greek Dictionary app good for

Best Greek dictionary for your mobile. It never let me down. Brilliant!
I couldnt use this application after Ive updated iPhone OS from 3.0 to 4.0. But as soon as I reported this rating, the bug had been improved. Its support was really rapid. Thank you.
Wonderful update which allows easy search for words AND most importantly allows for a user to quickly go back to their place in a dictionary - just like a book - for looking up words before and after the word(s) they just looked up. Great for learners of any language.
This is a good dictionary. However, at 20 dollars a pop they really should have included an audio pronunciation guide with each word. My Greek is horrible and, like most students, need to match up with a native speaker. It REALLY needs an update. With audio this is easily a five star application.
I have used the Collins Gem Greek-English, English-Greek dictionary for years. It is the BEST small/pocket dictionary of its type!! However, for this price, it should contain many more words and the ability to add words.
Very good dictionary, very thorough. Only needs IPA phonetic entries for Greek to be complete. Meanwhile I use the Collins Mini Gem Audio Greek dictionary to listen to native Greek. Will rate 5 stars when dictionary has phonetic transcriptions. Hopefully they will also add verb conjugations.

Some bad moments

I am so disppointed with the latest update !!! Apart from being rather ugly it has changed some features (for example the star symbol for favourites no longer appears you need to look for it). All games are in english and should be in greek as well. Some words exist in the english=> greek version but not the other way around. Reflexive/passive form of greek verbs are on the same "page" and so you cannot search most passive forms by themselves which is not helpful. This dictionnary seems made for greeks trying to learn english and is ignoring the fact that it is very much used by foreigners trying to learn greek. Real shame.
I love this app but now I cant use it since it crashes once I open it. It would also be great if I could put my own words into to dictionary. Plz fix the crash error
We should all expect a lot more from electronic dictionairies. A dictionary for Greek should conjugate every verb in every tense and mood, and every noun and every adjective in every case. It should be possible to look up every word in every form in which it occurs. This one does not even give the genders or the plural forms of nouns. These can usually be predicted from the nominative singular endings, but its not easy, and we should not have to work so hard. There are no verb conjugations at all. So many common words cannot be looked up at all. The Collins German-English dictionary at least provides a complete conjugation table for every verb and the genders and plurals of nouns. So theres no excuse for not doing a little better with the Greek.
